As part of the innovation team creating a better experience for the LMI Pump classes, gym owners spoke of their need to make best use of space by the equipment taking up that space. Weights are expensive per square meter, but it’s not a gym without weights. Exercise classes were a main income producer, fast and efficient. Experiencing classes the confident kids were up the front, and the naughty kids were in the back not doing what they were told but watching the confident kids pick up weights.

There was always a scramble for the equipment needed, and the over-declaration of floor space per person. The repetition of equipment required and a difficulty of adjustment and the time to change weights between instructions. There was opportunity for a bespoke combined weight system designed to match those needs for increased efficiency.

An all-in-one weight system for storage, speed of set up, efficiency of space for each participant, fast, flexible change of use within class & simple pack down – feeling familiar in a gym – developed, tested, and prototyped.
